For a long time this was my wife's favorite painting of mine. The day I sold it she was clearly sad, but the sadness was mixed with joy over the sale. As mature adults, I've found that duel emotions are more likely what we usually feel. I think the simply reason for this is that humans can feel based on their circumstances and with their conscious mind at the same time. Most animals run on instinct alone. What they feel is based on what is happening to them at a given time. Young children and babies are like this too. However, humans grow, mature, and develop a conscious mind. We can choose how we will react to our circumstances. If you're in a tough stop in life right now, I hope this encourages you to look up from your circumstances and fix your own on a new goal. If you don't have the strength to do that, call a friend who will encourage you. You may have disappointing circumstances, but with a little concentrated focus on a better outcome, you can move from the valley to the mountaintops!
