Marc Davies is a self-taught artist who discovered a love for painting after his brother tragically died.  A few months later Marc turned 40 and had a burning desire to paint.  Having never painted in his life, people began to compliment his work.  He shrugged off their comments saying, “Anyone can do this.”  However, a conviction from a close friend allowed him to realize his talent is a gift from God.  Since that time, Marc has spent countless hours refining and honing his craft, but cannot take full credit for this talent.  Marc is focused on creating art that is uplifting and inspiring.

He often paints live and can create a nearly completed piece in less than an hour.  These live paintings are often messy, with paint splattered all over the canvas.  These splatters become part of the story created on the canvas.  The tear that appeared during the live painting of Graceful Warrior is a good example of this.  Visit the gallery to read the story behind this painting.

One last note about Marc’s work: He creates pieces that are pleasant to look at.  This decision was made when he visited an art store with his two young children.  The store displayed works by local artists, but some of them were more than a little creepy.  Anytime he told his kids that he needed to go to that store, they told him that place scared them because of the paintings on the walls.  Marc wants people to have an emotional reaction to his work, but not find it disturbing.  He wants to crack open a ray of sunshine on people.
