I grew up landlocked in the middle of America. However, I always dreamed about living by the sea. As a kid I envisioned a more adventurous life with the ocean as my backyard. I was 15 the first time I ever saw the ocean. To someone who had never seen the ocean in person, the Northern California sea was cold, wild, and absolutely captivating. I was hooked! Six years later I moved to Los Angeles and spent the next 19 years living less than ten minutes from the water. At one point my wife and I lived in a small "beach shack" right on the water. We brought both of our children home from the hospital to that house. They were beach babies from birth.
I loved watching the sunsets glisten over the water and watching boats sail by. Those feelings run deep into my core and i try to capture a glimpse of them to in some of my work to share with you.
